Naturgy Award: ‘Connecting Energy’ Program
Just a few days ago, and coinciding with World Creativity and Innovation Day, the third edition of ‘Connecting Energy’, Naturgy’s business incubation program, came to a close.
During a DemoDay held in Madrid, the program’s winning project was chosen, marking the end of a six-month mentorship provided by company employees to the 10 startups selected to help them validate their business models.
In the pitch contest with five finalists — Maska.es, Calpech, Novapedra, Solsolet Energy and Crowmie — the jury, made up of both Naturgy leaders and members of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, awarded first prize to Calpech for the sustainability of its solution and its fit with Naturgy’s commitment to biomethane, and a special mention to Maska.es.
Connecting Energy
‘Connecting Energy’ is Naturgy’s business incubation program to promote entrepreneurship in the energy sector with a focus on sustainable innovation. Through this initiative, the company supports entrepreneurs looking to launch projects that generate a structural change in the energy system and contribute to the energy transition, in areas such as efficiency and responsible consumption, renewable gases, sustainable mobility, or the circular economy and waste management, among others.
The program connects company professionals, who become mentors for six months, with the start-ups developing businesses linked to the energy transition. The company has professionals who can contribute their knowledge and experience to these entrepreneurs and advise them on the sector’s needs, as well as help them develop their business plan, define their growth strategy and give them the boost they need to reach their objectives. In addition, among all the projects received, one is selected to receive additional support valued at €25,000 to validate its solution.
